Inshore Wrap-up

What a finish to the Inshore season! The weather was perfect and the fleet was eager to start racing. Podium finishes for the overall season we’re hanging in the balance and there were skippers and crews keen to make their boat one of the winners. Races on the day confirmed who would mount the podium at the Presentation Dinner on 3 May, 2024.

MYEASYBNB TWILIGHT RACE 3: 24 January 2024

Despite the lack of wind, less than 10 knots, Wednesday’s Twilight Race was enjoyed by a fleet of twelve boats that sailed, shall we say, with slow majesty, from start to a shortened finish at Wonga Shoal. Miraculously there was not a single DNF although one boat in particular dawdled to the finish line making it by a catfish’s whisker before being timed out.

Division A winner was Brenton Pegler and crew on Playground, in front of Ocean Hawk (Steve Emery) and Clockwork (Andrew Lloyd).

Division B winner was David Dunk on La Santica O Diablita, ahead of Magnum (Jim Heyen) and School’s Out (Adrian Wotton). For full results click button above.

Wednesday 17January post-Christmas Twilight
proved to be a really enjoyable evening out on the water with enough wind and an interesting course. It was great to blow the cobwebs out in our mini midweek break!

Division A was won by Greg Patten on G-Wizz followed by Robert Dunn on Venom. Graeme Footer came in third on Marnico with Derek Morrison on Sintara trailing by a couple of minutes (sorry, no wine Derek). Good save Clockwork!

Division B was won by Jim Heyen on Magnum, with Adrian Wotton on School’s Out followed by Mark Moore on Seduction.

Wednesday Twilight 13 December 2023

The last race in the CYCSA BRAVO SAILS Pre Christmas Twilight Series, Race 10, saw a good number of boats out on what turned out to be a beautiful evening, rounding off the series with a presentation of prizes for race 10 and for the Series. Derek Morrison and his crew on Sintara took first in Division 1 while Jim Heyen and his crew on Magnum scooped up first in Division 2. Carter Baker and Team YSF Performance (2) on Musto came in first in the Elliott 7 Division.

Well done everybody who participated in the Series. See you all again for the next Twilight Series.

Georges Wines Premier’s Cup Regatta 2-3 December

For day one of racing, the wind was well above predicted, around 16-18 kts. The second day of the regatta saw completely different conditions resulting in kinder and more pleasurable sailing.

Deputy Premier, Susan Close extends her apologies, unable to attend the presentations due to unforeseen circumstances.

Well done to all participants and congratulations to winner of the Premier’s Cup – Secret Mens Business (SMB), G. Boettcher.
