Mariners Ristorante in North Haven, boasting breathtaking marina views, has achieved remarkable success by winning three categories at the 2024 Restaurant & Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence in South Australia. Their accolades include Restaurant of the Year, as well as Best Italian Restaurant and Seafood Restaurant.

Head Chef, Camillo Crugnale states “as Head Chef, we believe to set the table is to set the expectation, every little detail is important. We believe in first impressions, and we strive to make every ocean-inspired meal remarkable. I am incredibly proud to receive this recognition for our efforts.

Our small but talented team is dedicated to delivering an Italian menu rooted in ancient culinary traditions, reimagined for today’s tastes and lifestyles. Each dish aims to capture the spirit of the Australian sea. With 40 years of perfecting my craft, I ensure that every dish reflects our commitment to excellence.

We purposefully limit our seating to just 32 guests per service, creating an exclusive dining experience that allows us to focus on each patron and provide personalised attention. Additionally, we’re well-known for hosting private events for 32-100 people. These awards are a testament to our dedication to high-quality ingredients, innovative techniques and our passion for the vibrant culinary culture of South Australia.

Restaurants, cafés and catering businesses gathered to celebrate the achievements of their peers and the announcement of the award winners at Morphettville Racecourse on the 23 September 2024.

The Awards for Excellence is the industries awards program recognised nationally that celebrates exceptional service and culinary talent across the state.

Restaurants are assessed on the entire dining experience including, food, beverage, service and restaurant presentation. Caterers are assessed on all aspects of their catering business including operations, food, service, staffing and event/site outcomes to determine the category winners.
