The Cruising Yacht Club of SA hosts many events throughout the year, ranging from fun social gatherings to family events and fiercely competitive racing events and everything in between! Event dates are subject to change, please contact Reception for up-to-date information.

For Racing events please refer to the Racing Documents page for applicable Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions, or check in with the Race office for up-to-date information including any scheduling changes.

Club Function Booking / Refund Policy
Due to the cost of catering all bookings will be taken as confirmed 72 hours prior to a function and will be invoiced to members accounts accordingly. There will be NO REFUND for non attendance / bookings cancelled after this period.

Follow the Fleet to Port Vincent and return 20-21 May 2023

The CYCSA Cruising Association is offering an opportunity to Follow the Fleet and share a BBQ together in the CYCSA Port Vincent club facilities Saturday night. We will ensure your comfort with good like minded company, offering indoor BBQs, kitchen facilities, a new microwave and recently installed heating.

All welcome – yachties, power boats and other SA yacht club members.

Timings

  • To Port Vincent : departure 20 May 9.15am – we are aiming for an imaginary line south of the Outer Harbour Breakwater
  • Returning home: departure 21 May 9.15am – an imaginary line north of the Middle Spit Beacon approximately 2nm ENE of the Pt Vincent Marina entrance
  • This is not a race!  Follow the Fleet presents an opportunity to sail together

Cancellation
The event will be cancelled if BOM issues a strong wind warning forecast for either day on the BOM website at 5.20am CST 20 May.  A cancellation notification will be posted on the CYCSA Cruising Facebook page around 7am Saturday 20 May

Berth Bookings

  • No bookings are required.  Rob has asked that vessels under 13m to consider row B.  Larger vessels should consider row D.  Please select a vacant berth of your choice
  • Please fill in the required Marina form located at the Port Vincent Marina office upon arrival.

Special Price
Port Vincent Marina fees have recently increased.  As this is a CYCSA Cruising event, the old pricing applies to CYCSA Club members – Row B $40pn (reg $50),  row D $55pn (reg $70)

Responsibility and Liability
Whilst you will be supported in an attentive fleet, responsibility and liability remains with the Skipper of their vessel.

Recommended minimum safety:

  • Lifejackets
  • PLB (encouraged)
  • Log on/off with Coast Guard Adelaide on VHF Ch 80
  • Maintain a watch on VHF Ch 16
  • recommended Australian Sailing (AS) special regulations Category 6 compliance – more info [here]

As always, cruising is weather dependent and the decision to start or return remains with each Skipper. Please monitor forecasts in the lead up to the event.
