The Cruising Yacht Club of SA hosts many events throughout the year, ranging from fun social gatherings to family events and fiercely competitive racing events and everything in between! Event dates are subject to change, please contact Reception for up-to-date information.

Club Function Booking / Refund Policy
Due to the cost of catering all bookings will be taken as confirmed 72 hours prior to a function and will be invoiced to members accounts accordingly. There will be NO REFUND for non attendance / bookings cancelled after this period.

Helming
The Keelboat Start Helming course is an introduces helming (steering) a small keelboat. Start Helming covers the basic safety, theory and practical skills involved in helming a small keelboat and builds on basics to advanced sailing skills and safety knowledge to enable you reach a level where you can sail unsupervised in sheltered waters.

Course Overview: This course develops both your theory and practical skills to confidently take control on the helm.

Course Prerequisites: Water confident and the skills, knowledge and experience you gained from Start Crewing.

Who should do this course? This course is designed for participants who want to learn how to helm a keelboat, and continue their skill development as crew.

Course Outcome: You will gain your Start Helming completion certificate.
