The Cruising Yacht Club of SA hosts many events throughout the year, ranging from fun social gatherings to family events and fiercely competitive racing events and everything in between! Event dates are subject to change, please contact Reception for up-to-date information.

Light it Up!– NYE Beach Party at KI
Enjoy the last day of the year, watch the sunset, and celebrate New Year’s Eve together!

Date: 31 December. Time: After lunch until late
Location: Beach, Rocky Point (Eastern Cove) Kangaroo Island

All Welcome: Yachties, power boats, and all cruisers

What to Bring

  • BYO food and drinks
  • Camping chairs and a table (if desired)
  • LED party lights (with batteries) to help create the evening ambience
  • Optional: a beach shelter — let’s see how many creative designs we can come up with!

Follow the Fleet to KI

All vessels must be independent and depart when conditions are favourable. Most skippers will be looking to set sail between 27–29 December, weather dependent.

Further details will be posted closer to the date on the CYCSA Cruising Facebook Group.

Safety Recommendations

A passage plan to KI—and your return journey—should be carefully considered. Please review your vessel’s capability, seaworthiness, and your level of seamanship. If in doubt, please seek advice.

Key Safety Points

  • The Skipper holds responsibility and liability
  • Recommended: lifejackets, handheld radio, PLBs, jacklines and tethers
  • Log on/off with Sea Rescue Adelaide and/or VMR American River (VHF Ch. 80)
  • Maintain a watch on VHF Ch. 16
  • At anchor, please monitor Ch. 72
  • Consider the Australian Sailing Special Regulations Category 5 (Click here)

Club Function Booking / Refund Policy
Due to the cost of catering all bookings will be taken as confirmed 72 hours prior to a function and will be invoiced to members accounts accordingly. There will be NO REFUND for non attendance / bookings cancelled after this period.
